Athletic Therapy

An assessment is the starting point for everyone.

An assessment gives me a better understanding of your medical history, the story behind the acute injury or chronic condition you are currently experiencing as well as a chance to see how your body already moves.

Athletic Therapy appointments include these key features

Picture
1. Full body approach - I will assess your body as a whole picture, not just the area where you are experiencing symptoms at. The body is one system with many parts that work together, and so it is only reasonable to make sure other parts aren't playing a role.
Picture
2. Education - I want you to understand what is happening, why this might be and how to move forward.
Picture
3. Movement - Our body understands the language of movement, after all, that is what our body is built to do! My goal is to help prepare your body to tolerate activity again.
Picture
4. Simplicity - The plan of action to get you back to the activities you love is meant to be practical and realistic, so you can apply it right away in your every day lifestyle.

Fascial Stretch Therapy

Fascial Stretch Therapy is a table-based assisted stretching technique focused on
  • Improving joint range of motion and soft tissue flexibility, while
  • Calming the nervous system.

From head to toe, FST will explore your movement in many different directions and angles. This promotes motion where you need it, and where you don't need more motion then stability can be the focus.

FST sessions can be booked after an initial Athletic Therapy Assessment, which will help enlighten me on how to eliminate your problem areas long term.

Sideline Athletic Therapy Staff Coverage

If you are a coach or team looking to take the guesswork out of what to do when a player goes down, then an Athletic Therapist is just what you need on your bench.

We are trained sports first responders who will keep everyone safe in the unexpected situations that come up, from minor injuries to emergencies.

Coverage of your bench can be arranged for one-time events, a full season of games, weekend tournaments, practices etc.
Erin is preparing to work sideline to a sporting event by stocking her fanny pack. She is making sure to have the necessary emergency supplies, bandages and tape ready at a moment's notice to be able to quickly respond to the athletes' needs during the game.
Erin is applying a prophylactic taping technique for an individual's wrist to provide support.
